road log

I'm in Tampa.

I stopped around Ocala to get some gas (and a milkshake). When I got out of my truck, the air was so wet and hot, my glasses started to fog up like crazy.

Anytime I'd roll my window down while driving, the humidity would enter my truck and my steering wheel would get all slippery.

It was a nice drive, mostly. I took the back way into Macon and then I-75 the rest of the way. I listened to albums/artists rather than everything on shuffle. I started with the new Sunset Rubdown, which led to Hezekiah Jones, and then I felt compelled to listen to Marion Brown's "Afternoon of a Georgia Faun" for obvious reason. Not exactly driving music for most people, but it worked for me. Then his "Geechee Recollections". That somehow led to Stevie Wonder, then the Talking Heads. I finished out the 7 hour trip with Matthew Ryan Vs. The Silver State of course, played really loud.

I'm now hanging with Rachel Lynn and catching up. Steve is out playing a gig so I guess I'll see him later. Not sure what I'll do tomorrow... perhaps the Beach. Tuesday is probably baseball. Wednesday is Open Mike night. There's also the Ringley Bros. circus in Sarasota and Busch Gardens nearby here. I might drive to Naples or even Miami one day. Who knows. I don't need set plans.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
